Condition:  New Comments:   This is a simple low cost tool used to verify voltage. It's not a meter, it just tells you if the circuit is live. It's a newer design using a more efficient LED instead of a bulb.
There is a spring-loaded alligator clip on the wire side which connects to a ground (-) and the probe is used on the positive (+) side. If the LED inside of the handle lights, you have power. The most basic of tests would be to connect it to your car battery terminals (+/-).
One of the most common uses for these is with car audio and 12 volt accessory installations. The probe allows you the pierce wires and determine if you have a "live" circuit.
This is not the most expensive test light there is, but for the low price it works well and gets the job done. We use it almost daily in our shop and have no complaints.
